Children will be in three age-level groups (K-1, 2-3, 4-5) with shepherds who are with them each week. They will experience the same story or theme for one month, but will have a different workshop each week.
There are 2 multi-age workshops at 11:00, and four year olds are invited to join us at this hour.
This year we continue focusing on Bible lessons that will encourage children to live as Christians in the world, intersecting their life experiences with the chosen Bible stories. The lessons are as follows:
· September: Daniel in the Lion’s Den
· October: Making Choices
· November: Friendship
· December: Christmas Around the World
· January: Money and Time
· February: Honesty and Truth
· March: Anger Management
· April: Peter’s Story
· May: Self-Esteem
Research by the Barna Research Group of Ventura, California (www.barna.org) shows the following:
· A person’s moral foundations are generally in place by the time they reach age 9.
· A majority of Americans make a lasting determination about the significance of Christ’s death and resurrection by age 12.
· What you believe by the time you are 13 is what you will die believing.
· Individuals who will become the church’s leaders 20 years from now are probably active in church programs today.
So how important is it to bring your child to church?
